Any major brand  smoke detector will  sound when smoke is present, but we use only photo electric beam detectors.  These detectors check air quality every three seconds and must “see” smoke at least three times over a nine second interval before an alarm sounds.  This assures you of early smoke detection, but greatly reduces false alarms.
